Narratively is a media company that celebrates the diversity of humanity through authentic storytelling. Our network of over 3,000 talented storytellers have experience at the most celebrated publications on earth and they come to Narratively with the passion projects they care about most — having combed our world’s big cities and hidden corners for the characters and narratives that mainstream media aren’t finding — the underdogs and overlooked tales that enlighten us, connect us, and capture our imagination. Each Narratively piece is presented in the most appropriate medium, from longform and shortform writing to short documentary films, photo essays, audio, and comics.
We’re looking for interns who are passionate about storytelling and digital journalism, are excited to learn and participate in every aspect of the editorial process, from reading submissions to promoting the finished product. Interns will also have the opportunity to pitch and write a story for us.
The position will require you to come to our office in Dumbo, Brooklyn twice a week (preferably on Mondays and Wednesdays).
– Reading and reviewing submissions and pitches through Submittable
– Laying out stories in WordPress
– Promoting stories through our social media channels
To apply, send your resume to [email protected] by August 1st with a brief email telling us a bit about yourself, your interest in storytelling and journalism in general, and in Narratively specifically.
