Lewis Watts is a photographer, archivist and professor emeritus of art at the University of California, Santa Cruz. He is the author of “New Orleans Suite,” UC Press, 2013, and “Harlem of the West,” Chronicle Books, 2006. His photography is in the collections of the Oakland Museum of California; The Ogden Museum of Southern Art, New Orleans; The Cité de la Musique, Paris; The Neuberger Museum of Art, Purchase, N.Y.; and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, among others.
