Mai Serhan is a writer and translator currently pursuing her graduate studies in Creative Writing at the University of Oxford. Her writing has appeared in Anomaly, Oyster River Pages, Flash Fiction Magazines, Oxford Magazine, The Writers & Readers, and elsewhere. She is the winner of the Master’s in Creative Writing FH Pasby Prize from the University of Oxford and the Center for Book Arts Poetry Chapbook Award for her collection, Cairo: the undelivered letters.

I have learned all the stories my father was too protective of me to share, parsed the conflicting histories and studied the maps. Now I can finally recreate our family’s lost home, in a once small village in Palestine.
