Meet the 2022 Winners of the Narratively Spring Memoir Prize
After poring over 500+ submissions, our editorial staff and guest judges have made their decision.
We're so excited to introduce you to the 2022 winners of our Spring Memoir Prize: Laura Green-Russell, Mai Serhan, and Anna Grundström — three amazing women from around the globe whose stories have taken our collective breath away.
Laura's Grand Prize winning story will be the first piece she's published since she was 12 years old, when she wrote about her childhood horse and her story was published in a magazine! We know you'll be just as intrigued and inspired as we were when you read her story "Murder to Middle School," as well as the finalists' pieces, each of which covers hard topics with grace and empathy.
We're thrilled to share that all of our finalists' stories have been released as well! Read them here:
I Have Never Been to the Place Where I am From, But I Will Imagine It For Us by Mai Serhan
Living with a Skinhead, While Living in My Brown Skin by Anna Grundström
